John Hamati, Director
John Hamati serves as Director of
Hospitality Development and Operations for RTK Resort Group.
With over twenty five years of experience in the resort and
hospitality industry, John Hamati has an established and proven
record in managing and overseeing a wide range of exclusive top
resorts and hotels. He has been involved with the operational
development, marketing, and opening of properties from boutique
hotels in downtown commercial districts to conference centers,
vacation ownership properties and mixed-use resort properties in
both national and international arenas.
Most recently, John’s energies have been
directed to the renovation and upgrading of the Marriott Bay
Point Resort in Florida. His role as Vice President of Resort
Operations and Owners Representative has helped to transform and
position the 320 room Marriott Hotel and 85 unit waterfront
condominium development, as well as a Jack Nicklaus designed
course, into the premier resort property on the Emerald coast.
Mr. Hamati’s earlier affiliations include
Hyatt Hotels, Kimpton Hotels, and Aston Hotels in San Francisco
where he held General and Regional Management positions. He
transitioned to resort properties as Managing Director for Jack
Tar Village’s Grand Bahama Resort featuring hotel, marina, golf,
tennis, and airport facilities. John’s overseas experience
broadened when International Resort Management, the largest
independent vacation ownership company in the Canary Islands
Spain, recruited him as Managing Director for their portfolio of
7 resorts, 4 restaurants and 2500 time share and fractional
ownership condominiums. Here, Mr. Hamati opened a 386 room
condominium resort and upscale theme restaurant, developed a
multi-lingual, multi-currency billing collection system, and
streamlined the operations of the multi-property development.
In 1998, John joined The Woodlands Resort
and Conference Center in Texas. He was instrumental in
repositioning the resort from an executive conference center to
becoming a full service golf resort and spa. Furthermore, he
championed a customer vision program empowering associates to
provide exceptional customer service and achieve superior
results in personalizing and enhancing the guest experience,
resulting not only in higher resort profitability, but happy and
enthusiastic associates as evidenced in the Woodland’s resort
being awarded the sixth most desirable place to work in the
Houston/metropolitan area.
