Laurence J. Raba, Director
Laurence J. Raba serves as a Director for RTK Resort
Group. Mr. Raba has a world renown record of architectural
achievements. Presently, Mr. Raba also serves as President of
RTK Development, Inc. and as Managing Partner of Platino LLC. a
General Partner to Piazza San Lorenzo, Ltd, which is undertaking
a luxury high-lifestyle mixed-use community on San Antonio’s
famed Riverwalk.
The Piazza San Lorenzo community real estate development has 28
prestigious full ownership condominiums, a Private Residence
Club with 41 villas, 4 restaurants, boutique shops and offices.
Its acquisition, development and construction budget is $80
million. Larry’s involvement as a past chairman of the River
Walk Commission has given him the necessary insight for the
development of this project.
As Executive Vice President of Raba Design Group, Mr. Raba
directs the efforts of all professionals and consultants toward
a successful completion of the firm’s architectural and
engineering design projects. He has special expertise with
accelerated schedules, projects which remain operational during
construction, and building systems technology.
Mr. Raba was very fortunate to start his career under the
mentorship of H.B. Zachry, a San Antonio visionary and pioneer.
Larry Raba’s first project as a design professional was the
Hilton Palacio Del Rio which was built in a Guinness Book of
World Record 202 days. In fact the modular construction process
used to achieve such a task is in Mr. Raba’s name. The exposure
and success of this Hilton brought Mr. Raba architectural
assignments in all parts of the world from Europe, Middle East,
Asia, and Mexico.
Mr. Raba’s development career began in 1985 with the
co-development of Victoria Towers (now known as KCI Towers), a
14-story office building in San Antonio, TX. Since that time he
has served in numerous capacities for several retail, office,
and residential developments.
Mr. Raba earned his Bachelor’s in Architecture from Texas A&M
University. He is both a licensed architect and interior
designer in the State of Texas. Over the past several years Mr.
Raba has been asked to serve on several key boards dealing with
San Antonio’s growth and future.
